These slaves are valued individually at between $100 for a 2 year old child to $450 for a 9 year old up to $1200 for a 26 year old man and $600 for the 30 - 40 year olds, in total 19 people for $9500. Left by his Grandfather to his mother who subsequently re-married, her "property" then became the property of his Stepfather, eventually producing this settlement document.
