GRAN BRETAÑA. 1856. Double weight and fully paid letter from LEIGHT 25/10-1856 to HORTEN via Ostende, Hamburg Stadt Post Amt, The Royal Danish Post Office (K.D.O.P.A) to Christiania with Norwegian steamship, and to Horten with local ship. 2 sh. 8 d. franking with Victoria Embossed pair of 1/ and 6 d. and 2 d., corresponding to 70 Norwegian skillings (35 Lbs), ´2´ shillings (endorsed in red) British and sea postage to Hamburg. ´12´ (Lbs.) (endorsed), sum of credit to Germany and Denmark. The special franco marking was used to indicate fully payment for foreign letters when delivered from the Stadt Post Amt to The Royal Danish Post Office. Cert. B.P.A. (2008).
